Nehemiah Chapter 1 Verses 3-11
Nehemiah Chapter 6 Verses 1-4
Addiction is defined as giving one's self up to a strong habit. Ideally some Christians set out to make Christ, or God if you will there all but somehow, even with the best intentions, we fall short. After all we live in fleshly vessels. However, the question remains what are you addicted to
We know that God's word says we cannot serve two masters (Luke 16:13) As innocent as it may seem, we tend to feel that we should not have to bother God with our trivial problems, after all that’s what we have friends for right? We must all ways remember what God's word says in all of our ways, not some of our ways, we should acknowledge him for direction (Proverbs 3:6). Furthermore the word of God say where your heart is so is your treasure (Matt:12:34) Who do you say the Christ is in your life ? When troubles arise, do you run to family and friends first? or, do you drown your sorrows in other addictive ways? If you make Christ your addiction, He will become a safe, healthy force in your life.
Remember, He will not force you to choose Him but wouldn't it be great to know that, you will never have to worry or have any regrets of who you shared your troubles with. Make Christ your addiction.
When do we really let it go? Forgiveness can be very hard to do for some people. We really feel that if someone has wronged us, we will never let it happen again. So we tend to use the defense of being” guarded” If you will. As Christians we realize that it is our duty to forgive, we know that we should be different from the world. If the truth be told, we say …”oh I forgave that person a long time ago “. Believe it or not, if someone were to question you regarding the offense, and you are able to recall what you were wearing, the day the offense happened , what the person did or said and the pain you said you were delivered from, did you really let it go?
How do you measure if you have really been delivered and are truly able to forgive that person? Well let’s line it up with what God’s word says about it. (Colossians 3:13) tells us We Must Forgive as God forgave us. Letting it go can be difficult, however, (Jeremiah 32:34) says that God remembers our sins no more Hallelujah! He allows us to realize that we have to measure up. If our God was anything like us holding on, and remembering how much we have hurt him when we did not obey, where would we be? Further what if, every time we needed to get a prayer through, God remembered our filthy ways? We would most definitely be in trouble.
You know the old cliché that we use “Life is to short”, but how much time are we being robbed of, by not really letting it go? So the next time you are asked the question about how you were wronged or offended, make it right by not remembering.
